About

Harsha

Hi my name is Harsha (Sanskrit meaning of my name is Happiness & Delight), and I am the creator and designer of India Inspired Crafts.

All of India Inspired Crafts gifts are made and shipped from my cosy little craft room in Loughborough, Leicestershire.

I have always enjoyed craft activities from a young age and as I grew up I began to learn more about sewing, knitting and crochet from my mum.  This gave me the inspiration to continue my crafting journey and learn new craft techniques such as card making, macramé and art journaling.

Sarees are close to my heart being from an Indian background, wearing a sari is always exciting, getting dressed up and wrapping this beautiful colourful fabric around me.  As I have always loved the colours, patterns and designs I wanted to find a way of releasing my love for sarees and reusing unwanted sarees in a positive way.  I know there are many Indian women who have hundreds of sarees in their wardrobes with no idea of what to do with them!

After months of experimenting and searching I now re- use sari fabric and recyclable materials in all my makes with love and care to recreate new unique, one of a kind items that can then be treasured forever.

I have been working on India Inspired Crafts for the past three years and still feel like my journey has just begun.  There is so much more I want to achieve, and I hope you will join me on my journey of craft, creation and inspiration.

I am super grateful for all my customers of India Inspired Crafts.  I often wonder where the gifts are and hope that the recipient enjoys them as much as I had making them.

Transforming these beautiful sarees into new items for others to enjoy just fills me with Happiness & Delight.
