Hope you are enjoying your craft projects. Today we’ve got a fun jewellery craft for you to enjoy.
There are button necklaces trending at the moment on etsy and on craft blogs so I thought I would share my version of a beautiful button necklace with you all.
All you will need is:
- Thread or wool
I picked up these gorgeous wooden buttons from a craft fair that I went to. I really liked the pretty designs on them. I have had them in my button jar for a while now waiting for a craft project to use them on. For the thread I used some glittery gold wool I had. Make sure that the thread you use will go through the holes in your buttons.
Firstly, cut a length of thread that will fit around your neck with about 20cm extra to allow for knots and tying at the end. Lay out your buttons in the order you would like them. Then simply thread them through like a running stitch through each button starting at the back of the first button. Then all you need to do is tidy up the ends and it is ready to wear. Tie as a bow around your neck when you wear it so that it is to take off ( you don’t want to end up having to cut it off 🙁 ).
Put your own finishing touch on it to make it your own. I added a braided thread look to mine 🙂 and then I made a second one with heart shaped wooden buttons.
I hope you enjoy making your button necklaces. Happy crafting! 🙂
